Distribution Overview

Doolin Distribution is a full-service, theatrical motion picture distribution division that specializes in representing independent companies, major studios, and mini-major studios on a “service-deal” basis for the purpose of exhibiting their films in a first class theatrical release. The principles of Doolin Distribution are highly regarded and experienced motion picture veterans with a combined total of over a century of respected work in the industry.

It was the vision of John Doolin to provide first-class, studio-style distribution, with the assurance to producers that all revenue derived from the theatrical exhibition would flow directly to the entity most at risk (the producer/prints and advertising funder). The time line for film rentals back to the producer, directly from the theatres, would be greatly enhanced. The perception that movie distributors provide “dishonest accounting” and are the only beneficiaries of theatrical exhibitions is eliminated under the service deal agreement. Simply put, Doolin Distribution works for a pre-determined flat fee for the life of the release.

How can we really make this work? Doolin Distribution, in conjunction with Doolin ET and private equity partner, Venturcorp International, provide financing for theatrical motion pictures. Included along with the financing for the film, is financing for distribution!

For each project, Doolin Distribution will handle the initial marketing and distribution plans. We will put in place highly regarded professional teams or established companies to handle the publicity, promotion, media buying and placement, and internet marketing, and then direct the entire team. Doolin Distribution then books all the coordinates and controls prints shipping throughout the run, and handles all holdovers and move-overs. We settle all engagements, collect and coordinate the thousands of box office reports and other paperwork that is part of the theatrical distribution business. Doolin Distribution then collects all the film rentals, immediately creates detailed reports, and sends the collections directly to the producers and investors.

What sets Doolin Distribution apart is our full service commitment, from financing to casting to release - giving the producer the advantage of having under its control a virtual studio distribution company without having to spend one penny in distribution overhead. They get the staff, the computers, the very expensive software, the executives with their decades of relationships with the top theatrical circuits, and so much more without having to set up their own “shop”, thereby alleviating the risk-factor while achieving a major studio-grade theatrical release.
